Guest Post - Your Expat Child - Preparing Kids for an Oversea's Move

Over on Your Expat Child today -

Good Day everyone,
I'm happy to share today that I am guest posting over on Your Expat Child

Your Expat Child is a wonderful resource for families who are moving abroad.  I only recently found this site within the last year - Wished I knew about it before we moved.  She has so many great resources for families and such great advice - for expats, by expats.  If you are considering an international move or know someone who is, I highly recommend this site!

In this post, I talk about how we prepared our kids for our oversea's move.  At this point, it was 2 years ago this month that we made our decision to move to to France from New York State.  I can't believe it's been 2 years already - in so many ways it feels like yesterday.

Moving overseas is exciting, adventurous, overwhelming, nerve-wrenching, scary and fun all at the same time.  There are probably many more feelings but this just names a few of how we felt.   One of my biggest concerns of moving was to understand how the kids felt and help them the best we could.

Hop on over to Your Expat Child - Preparing Kids - Overseas move - One Perspective - Enjoy!!
My girl's who are enjoying traveling!
Let me know what you think - either over there or here on my blog - I would love to hear from readers out there.
We have enjoyed many rainbows here - such a peaceful sign!

Expats Blog - Interview

Hello everyone!

Today is a pretty special day.  I was interviewed by the lovely people at Expatsblog.  We are the featured expat today over on their site.  It was a lot of fun doing the interview - always nice to share our experience.  I hope you find it interesting to read.

Go check it out - and please feel free to comment - always nice to hear from readers.

The weather here has still been cloudy and cool - so here are some photos of Spring and sunshine from last year - here's hoping for a change in this weather pattern! It always brightens my day to see such fun colors and imagine warmer weather. I'm off to scout out some ideas for the girls and my husband for Mother's Day - in France it is celebrated this Sunday.

The second post about our trip to Lourdes will post in a couple of days.  Have a wonderful day!

Week Wrap Up - American Mom in Bordeaux Featured on Expats blog-an Experience Shared

Happy Weekend Everyone!!

I can't believe Friday is almost over - at least in this neck of the woods.  I noticed tonight that since we just recently changed over to daylight savings time, it's staying lighter longer.  Now, I know that's a pretty obvious statement - but it's only the beginning of April and at almost 9 pm tonight it was still light out!  I'm so anxious for it to really begin to warm up and be sunny again.  Today was a good start  - we had sunshine - but it was still a bit chilly.  Then there was this random rain shower that blew through around lunch time for about an hour or so, but then the sun was out again for the rest of the afternoon.

It's been a busy week - my middle daughter is off skiing this week  (yes, now it's her turn) with her CE2 (3rd grade) class.  Yes, the teacher took 26 kids off to the Pyrenees to ski & snowshoe.  This is kind of trip is very popular among schools in France - it's called Classe de Neige (snow class) - they ski, snowshoe and do a little bit school work too.  I'll write more about her trip later - after she returns - I'm sure she will have plenty of stories!  We sent her off early Thursday morning - nothing like being at school at 6:50 am!!  She will return next Wednesday.

So a favor of everyone who reads this blog - we are now listed on the
Expats blog  - an Experience shared.
This marvelous site is for anyone worldwide who is an expat and blogs!  There are some awesome blogs on this page - I love it too, as you can check blogs by country.  It's designed to be both a sharing center and also a resource for anyone who is considering being an expat.

Hop on over & check out my blog there - please leave some love for this blog in their comment section - there is a section at the bottom of the page - they track those things - it's designed to give them feedback and also help new readers to see which blogs can be very helpful.  Another reason is they get to see which blogs readers have found and are reading.  You can find my blog here:
